Dear Members and Friends of the Ninth District:
 
We are filled with tremendous joy and excitement as we look forward to our Spring Convocation 2011 Webcast to be held on Saturday, April 9, 2011! Our theme is, "Poised For Progress."  This letter will provide you with updated information concerning our special guests for the Webcast and broadcast site requirements along with information concerning registration, the special DVD that will be produced, and advertisement space available on the DVD for local churches and businesses. 
 
A weekly informational telephone conference call about the Spring Convocation Webcast is scheduled each Monday at 6:30 p.m. PST.  Our next conference call will be held on Monday, March 28, 6:30 p.m. PST. Telephone Number: 712-432-0075.  Access Code: 100124.

Registration
Registrations are being accepted for the Spring Convocation Webcast. The registration fee is $50.
 
You may register online (closed effective April 7, 2011)
 
You may download a registration form and send your payment and the form to the Ninth District Office. A fill-in registration form is also available.
 
 
Special Webcast DVDs / Advertisements
To cherish this special historical event in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and for enjoyment by generations to come, we will prepare a DVD for distribution to each registrant and approximately 2,000 persons with the following information: 
  • A message from Bishop James B. Walker
  • A twenty minute history of the Ninth Episcopal District by Bishop Othal H. Lakey
  • Pictures of our leaders for each Region
  • Advertising space for each church in the Five Regions and local businesses
We are requesting advertisements from local churches and businesses in the Ninth Episcopal District!  Advertisements will cost $100.  Each local church will have their own section on the DVD.  Each local church will get their advertisement free with three (3) ads for their section.  Advertisements are due in the Ninth District Office by February 28, 2011

Broadcast Site Requirements
Please review the requirements here for a site designated to host the live Spring Convocation 2011 Webcast on April 9, 2011.  Additionally, there is a guide that you may use to set up your church site for the Webcast and general Internet video streaming, and for testing and troubleshooting connections.
